I coach from a core belief that clients have the answer to anything they present with and that my role is to listen with 100% attention, ask insightful, curious and sometimes challenging questions coupled with honest observations to help them gain deeper awareness or new perspectives. I use stimulus I’ve learned in attaining my coaching qualifications, through wider reading (and curious web surfing) or through my supervision to help clients in exploring new perspectives to support their learning.  I appreciate that clients (and their sponsors) want to see results from their investment in coaching and my style is action-orientated to engage clients in committing to actions and discussing their learning from them with me or their sponsor as part of our work.

My career began as a pharmacist and retailer. My people and customer-focused values led to my promotion into senior roles within Boots. I completed an MBA in 2004 and used this learning to establish a new business venture for Boots by setting up their first international business franchise in the Middle East. This activity exposed me to senior stakeholders in very different international cultures broadening my perspectives further. Further promotion appointed me to roles as part of the Executive Team (Director of Retail Operations and Supply Chain, Director of Retail, Commercial and Business Development) in which I experienced the challenges of operating at these levels and successfully engaged my teams to deliver in part by championing the importance of relationships and collaboration.  I left Boots in 2016 and completed a PG Cert in business and personal coaching with the University of Chester before gaining ACC status with the ICF earlier this year having worked as both an external coach as well as an internal transformation leader and coach (Northgate Vehicle Hire) up until August 2019.

Andy is great at reading what people really need. We quickly identified that a more direct form of coaching would be the best technique for me. This style worked brilliantly, helping me to find ways to prioritise getting the balance back in my life. I was able to get to clear practical actions which helped me to prioritise what was important in my life personally and professionally. I still find myself reflecting on our conversations when things start to feel like they could fall out of balance.

During my many years in management I have worked with many HR, business & life coaches who think they are experts in the coaching of others, I can state 100% Andy is head and shoulders above all these supposed experts. Using his warm and friendly approach to customise the required outcomes to match the relevant organisation, staff or culture is what truly sets him aside. If as a company you are looking to invest and want somebody that is committed, professional and supportive I would recommend you give Andy a call.

Andy provided coaching support not long after I was promoted to Head of Marketing & Online which was absolutely invaluable. We worked through exercises which provided great insight into my management style and leadership skills which enabled me to 'step up' within the organisation - I don't know where I would have been without him
